The Wharfedale Mattress top

History in the Making

All Bishop & Mitchell

Handcrafted Mattresses

are made

by Harrison Spinks

in the North of England.

Where the Spinks family

have been making Beds

since 1889.

For over a 100 years,

bed manufacturing at the Harrison Spinks factory has evolved through Innovation and technology to create a sleeping experience that is second to none.

When it comes to delivering the perfect night's sleep,

they never rest.

Where do we start

Your mattress does not start

out life in a factory

But on a 300 acre farm

in North Yorkshire.

Here Harrison Spinks

rear sheep for their wool and produce the Natural fibres

that go into their fillings.

They don't do this because

it's easier, they do it

because they believe in sustainable manufacturing.

"One of the most Vertically Integrated

bed manufacturers in the World"

"From drawing our own wire to growing Natural fibres on our farm,

we are continuously striving to improve our processes and products".

are presented to UK businesses

for outstanding achievement,

and they remain the only bed manufacturer

to have won two such awards

in the same year, twice over.
